✨ WORLDSKILLS: THE GLOBAL STAGE FOR SKILLS ✨ For 75 years, #WorldSkills has been putting skills excellence on the #GlobalStageForSkills, shaping skills development and raising the standards for skills training through hundreds of local, national, and regional skill competitions around the world that culminates at the world's largest skills competition every two years. While the impact of these competitions cannot be understated, WorldSkills is about more than that—it's a global movement shaping the future of skills. That's why today we unveil a new campaign designed to drive greater belief in the power of skills. The Global Stage for Skills campaign positions skills as a catalyst for social and economic development, while marking an important milestone in the organization's history. It highlights how WorldSkills has grown over 75 years from a modest skills contest in Europe in 1950 into a global movement that is playing a pivotal role in elevating the significance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). WorldSkills now has 89 Members and 28 Global Industry Partners, not to mention the hundreds of national education, industry, and government supporters. Each one of them is working tirelessly to support the next generation, improve TVET strategies, and drive greater investment in skills. Over the coming year, we're shining a spotlight on the incredible people and moments that have made WorldSkills history and are shaping its future, demonstrating why skills are essential to transform lives, industries and communities. Skilled ambassadors shared their valuable perspectives on the topic of youth empowerment through artificial intelligence (AI) and digital skills at events in both Paris 🇫🇷 and New York City 🇺🇸 marking World Youth Skills Day 15 July. #WYSD2025 #WorldSkills Champions Trust representatives Shweta Ratanpura of India 🇮🇳 and Nurit D. of Austria 🇦🇹, as well as SkillsUSA 🇺🇸 Champion Audrey Norris, spoke at youth-centered UNESCO-UNEVOC and International Labour Organization events marking the 10-year anniversary of World Youth Skills Day. ➡️ "Now more than ever, we need educators who are not just teachers, but practitioners—well-versed in the latest tools, platforms, and skillsets. As AI reshapes job roles, the value of strong foundational and interpersonal skills also rises. It’s our teachers who will play a crucial role in preparing us not just for work, but for adaptability, empathy, and lifelong learning," reflected Shweta. ➡️ "Building digital competence for students and teachers is important to pick up everybody and not leave anybody behind, to not take away job opportunities," said Nurit. ➡️ "With the right education, young people can use AI not as a substitute, but as a tool to grow, adapt, and lead responsibly," shared Audrey. World Youth Skills Day is a celebration and reflection of the role skilled young people play in communities, economies and global progress, a day to recognize the power of young people as drivers of change—and commit to equipping them with AI and digital skills to tackle today’s challenges and shape a more peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable future. Happy World Youth Skills Day! 🎉
